PENTECOST NIGHT VIGIL
Pentecost means the ‘fiftieth day'. This feast commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. The day comes nearly fifty days after Easter. It was a Jewish festival, and has been observed in the Christian Church since the days of the Apostles. The Holy Catholic Church celebrated the feast of Pentecost on May 27 year. The Divine Call Centre of Mulki celebrated the Pentecost Day in a very special way. The Centre had organized Mega Pentecost Celebrations which began on Saturday May 26 and concluded on Sunday May 27. The Centre had its usual day-long retreat on May 26, which was attended by a large number of devotees. A special Mass was celebrated by three newly ordained SVD priests along with five more concelebrants. The retreat was followed by intercessory prayers, dinner and night vigil, in which hundreds of faithful took part. Fr Francis Fernandes, Fr Abraham D’Souza, Fr Anil KiranFernandes and the team members of Divine Call Centre too the lead in the prayers, joined by Fr Andrew Leo and Fr Sunil Pinto from St Jude Church, Pakshikere. The prayers concluded with the Solemn Holy Mass at 4 am and the night vigil concluded early in the morning on May 27. Divine Call Centre is a place of solace to people going through struggles, pains and despair because of spiritual, emotional, physical and social traumas. Influx of people has increased steadily in recent times.
