RETREAT AT SHARJAH
Rev. Fr. Abraham D'Souza travelled to United Arab Emirates and preached retreat in St. Michael's Church to a large gathering for four days. He also gave a series of homilies on Mother Mary during the nine day novena to prepare for the Nativity of Virgin Mary. The solemn feast of the birthday of Mother Mary was celebrated on
12th September 2013. Around five thousand Konkani Catholics gathered to celebrate the feast. Flowers were showered upon the statue of Infant Mary by the children and the new paddy brought from Mangalore was blessed. Then the people went inside the Church to celebrate the Holy Mass. A beautiful cultural evening was organized soon after. A traditional vegetarian fellowship meal was shared by the huge gathering. The people reaped great spiritual benefits by the retreat and novena preaching. Many of the people are enthusiastic to come to Divine Call Centre to attend residential retreats and grow spiritually. The great interest shown in the spiritual activities by the Konkani Catholics in Sharjah is very commendable.
