GOLDEN BELLS RANG AT SVD MINOR SEMINARY, KIREM
It was a day of celebration and jubilation on Wednesday, 02 May, 2012, as the Golden Jubilee of SVD Minor Seminary at Kirem wascelebrated with much pomp and gaiety. As many as thousands of people hadgathered for the celebration. Archbishop Most Rev. Leo Cornelio SVD (Bhopal Diocese), Most Rev. Aloysius Paul D’Souza (Bishop of Mangalore), Most Rev. Robert Miranda (Bishop of Gulburga) along with more than hundred SVD priests and diocesan priests were present for the occasion.
The solemn Eucharistic Celebration began at 10 am with a solemn entrance procession of the celebrants from the entrance of the house to the grounds with band followed by an introduction was given by Fr. Ivan D’Silva SVD (Rector of the Seminary). Bp. Aloysius Paul presided over the Eucharist and Archbp. Leo Cornelio preached the homily. After the Mass there was a felicitation programme on the grounds which lasted for two hours. During the programme all the significant people were honoured and dignitaries made their speeches highlighting the importance of the house and the occasion. To mark the Golden Jubilee of the Seminary foundation stone for the old age home “Arnold Ashray†was laid and blessed during the programme and a souvenir was released.
