OUTREACH RETREAT AT SHAMBUR From February 21 to 23, 2015
Divine Call Retreat Centre conducted retreats in two parishes as part of the Lenten Season. The first, three-day, retreat was at Shambur Parish, close to Bantwal (about 9 kms from B. C. Road), off the Mangaluru-Bengaluru Highway No. 48. The retreat was from Saturday, 21 February till Monday, 23 February, 2015. The beautifully constructed Parish church, dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, is located along a road leading to Narampadi, 6 kms inside from the main Highway. The faithful had gathered each day on time for the retreat and they were fully involved in the retreat. A good number of little children, singing and praying along with the elders, was a delightful sight to behold. Most the families made it a point to attend the retreat, inspired by their enthusiastic parish priest, Rev. Fr. Kiran Maxim Pinto. More than the number of people present, the joy and participation of those present was so encouraging and spiritually uplifting to all of us. Their singing was melodious and filled with jubilation and it rent the air. The entire atmosphere during the retreat was very pleasant and conducive for prayer. The parish priest, with the cooperation of the faithful and the leaders, had also organized some refreshments and snacks for all those who attended the retreat. Thus the people were satisfied both spiritually and physically.
